Mental Health, Well-Being, and Safety at Camp: an Interactive Workshop

It's time to have a conversation about mental health and well-being at camp. The prevalence of mental health issues at camp has been steadily on the rise for the past several years. This workshop will build skills, knowledge, and confidence so that when mental health issues arise at camp this summer, you and your team will be prepared. Together, we will work to create outlines and help set up protocols for safety that can be implemented at your camp. We will cover topics such as: Mental Health Prevalence and Statistics, Anxiety and Depression, Self-Injury, Substance Abuse, De-escalation Training for Staff, and Self-Care for Camp Professionals. Participants can expect to walk away from this pre-conference session better prepared to handle mental health, mental well-being, and safety for their campers and staff members.
